The ASCEND project continues to drive the development of Positive Clean Energy Districts (PCEDs) in Europe. One of its latest milestones is the submission of the building permit for Ilot D3, a new mixed-use district in Lyon Confluence designed to integrate sustainable housing, commercial space, and innovative mobility solutions.
Ilot D3 is a 17,400 m² development, featuring 296 housing units, with 73% designated as affordable housing, ensuring accessibility for a diverse range of residents. The project also includes 1377 m² of commercial and activity space on the ground floor to support local businesses and economic growth. Additionally, 718 m² of underground space will be dedicated to low-carbon mobility solutions, partially funded by ASCEND, to promote sustainable transportation.

With the building permit now submitted, another important milestone has been reached: on 14 February, the land sale commitment was signed between SPL Lyon Confluence and Quartus. This step, which can only take place once the real estate project is well secured and its business model confirmed, marks significant progress in the land sale process.
The next steps will continue advancing the project toward the realization of a forward-thinking, climate-positive urban district. ASCEND remains at the forefront of driving sustainable urban transformation—stay tuned for further updates!
