How can cities bring building renovation, renewable energy, smart energy management and citizen participation together within one Positive Clean Energy District? On 28 October 2026, from 11:00 to 12:30 CET, the NEUTRALPATH project will host an online webinar exploring the experience of Zaragoza, one of the project’s two lighthouse cities alongside Dresden. Zaragoza is using its PCED as a core part of its pathway towards climate neutrality by 2030.
The session will take participants inside the design and early implementation of Zaragoza’s district, where technical interventions are being combined with citizen co-creation through a local climate-neutral lab. Speakers will share the challenges encountered so far, lessons learned and practical approaches for connecting the technical and social dimensions of energy-positive district development.
The webinar will also consider what Zaragoza’s experience can offer other cities. Particular attention will be given to replication and upscaling, including how lessons from the lighthouse city can support NEUTRALPATH’s fellow cities of Ghent, Istanbul and Vantaa, as well as other European cities working towards district-scale climate neutrality. The event is open to city representatives, urban practitioners, policymakers and experts working on energy transition and sustainable urban development.
Join the webinar to learn from Zaragoza’s PCED experience and explore how its approaches could support replication in other European cities. Register for the NEUTRALPATH webinar
