polisMOBILITY

polisMOBILITY is the leading sector-spanning dialogue platform for the urban transport transition. It provides a central forum for decision makers from various industries and sectors and brings together the private economy and the public sector into a dialogue in order to promote holistic planning and action in relation to the key themes of "transition in drive systems and energy in urban areas", the "municipal mobility transition", and "local public transport & mobility services".

The conference is to take place from the 22 to 23 of May in Cologne, Germany.

The topics of polisMOBILITY

By looking at all relevant areas for a successful transport transition, polisMOBILITY is the centre for exchange and networking. The focus here is on the topics of "urban drive and energy transition", "municipal mobility transition" and "public transport & mobility services".

Municipal Mobility Transistion

Local authorities have a key role to play in the mobility transition because they determine the local strategies and control measures to a decisive degree. At the same time, it is expected of them that they be technology-agnostic, ensure the provision of public services for their citizens and provide (digital) infrastructure across all sectors. The challenges and scopes of action that arise in the field of tension between spatial, administrative and civil-society factors must be addressed in an interdisciplinary fashion; in both the thematic fields of individual transport and the EcoMobility Alliance and in the field of logistics of the last mile.

Local Public Transport and Mobility Services

Tomorrow’s mobility services will be multimodal, digitally connected, sustainable, shared – and, above all, simple and affordable. Public mobility must be provided in a way that connects conventional means of public transport with new mobility services as seamlessly as possible. Mobility thus offers users maximum flexibility while meeting the demands for efficiency and sustainability. Digital platforms are essential for seamlessly connecting different public and private sector operating models.

Urban Drive System and Energy Transition

The transformation of the urban mobility system calls for technical innovations and solutions across sectors at the municipal level. Important here is on the one hand to adapt the existing regulations with an openness to technology and to expand the networking of (charging) infrastructure and technologies. On the other hand, the electricity and heat supply, the needs of industry and transport matters must be coordinated and connected without losing sight of the common good. New business models must be understood and developed, and resilient infrastructures created.
