The Scalable Cities Secretariat invites you to an engaging session focused on how to speed and scale climate innovations to achieve the ambitious goals of 2030. This workshop will explore the development of a large-scale upscaling programme that combines an ambitious public and private financing framework with structural reforms, aiming to position cities and their solutions as primary beneficiaries of this programme.
A key topic will be the challenge of transforming currently unbankable solutions into bankable ones with high-impact potential. The session will delve into the challenges cities face in replicating successful climate initiatives and present strategies for involving the public sector and establishing new financial instruments to support these efforts.
Cities such as Dijon, Turku, and Brussels will participate, alongside contributions from ATELIER, POCITYF, ASCEND, and NEUTRALPATH, offering a broad range of insights. Participants will explore key questions, including:
- What could be a large financial program's size, structure, and targets to speed and scale ready-to-market and less mature solutions?
- How can such a program include cities effectively? What cities must do to become an active player?
- How can we make funding flow more efficiently and foster financial innovation?
Attendees are encouraged to bring their experiences and insights, fostering a collaborative dialogue centred on impactful climate innovations.
